Best Lip Balms for Dry Lips

13 Best Lip Balms for Dry Lips 2019- Men’s and Women Health & Fitness

If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s the feeling of scaly, peely, dry lips. Since I wear an XL-sized pair on my face 365 days of the year, it’s embarrassing when I get caught with chapped lips—which make it nearly impossible to smoothly apply my favorite lipsticks (especially the matte ones). After years (literally) of searching for a balm that can keep my dry lips supple and moisturized, I’ve finally found some reliable favorites, from brands like Bite Beauty and Blistex, that I store in my purse, jeans, or at my desk (seriously considering buying one for every room in my apartment too). I’m always interested in hearing from fellow dry-lip sufferers as well, so I polled 10 editors on the lip balms they use to help keep dry and chapped lips at bay—the super-drying office A/C has given us lots of thoughts on the topic.

This article on lip balm specifically caught my attention as someone I know has lot of issues related to chapped lips. She has tried so many over the counter medications for chapped lips but some have helped a little others, have in fact made it worse by making the chapped lips worse causing her to apply it again and again. Perineial catch 22 and a cash cow for lot of lip moisturizing products. Regardless of the price, the benefit appears to be very limited if at all. At the end of the day best lip balms feels like a ever fleeting notion. So, the big question of the day would be to see if there is a natural therapy or natural products that you can apply on lips to keep them moist. So, what works the best for chapped lips.

In my view a few things have helped. First avoid licking the lips frequently. When the are hurting, it I easier said than done. If the damage has already occurred try applying a little healing cream to cure chapped lips. Use Vaseline or Nivea cream or some other moisturizing cream may provide soothing relief. Moisturizing creams containing natural moisturizer and natural extracts may help with fill the gap in lips. I buy vitamin E capsules and use vitamin E from those supplements by puncturing them, and apply vitamin E directly on the lips. Also some lips-balms may help, at-least temporarily with chapped lips. Aloe Vera and Aquaphor are also known to be decent natural therapy products to help with already chapped lips.

I think I have lot more to share on this subject of moisturizing lips, so I will bookmark these pages and stop over again to add more information that I have gained over the years.

    Later Duedes !!

    1. I think you have som egood knowledhe about thi stopic and appreciate you sharing it with us. We live in a very cold area and chapped lips is a huge problem especially during peak winter time. One of the things we follow intuitively is to avoiding eating highly spicy and acidic food during cold months. It doesn’t cure anything but certainly help when treating chapped lips. These foods containing acids or spices may result in severe pain and inflammation in lips and worsen the condition.

Eating a healthy diet with proteins, vitamins and minerals helps to heal cracked lips fast. Even though it may not be easy during winter months, especially when you are working outside, drinking a decent amount of water daily tends to maintain body moisturized on the inside .

  9. best lip balms for dry lips in winter says:

There are certain common factors that maybe helpful in determining How to choose the best lip balm for dry, chapped lips
First and foremost obviously is ingredients. afterall you are putting it on most sensitive parts of your body. Choose soothing ingredients is critical. Products containing occlusive ingredients, which create a barrier on the skin to prevent moisture loss. Petrolatum, silicone, squalene, lanolin, shea butter, and waxes all would do a great job. Ingrdients such as glycerin are also helpful. Something like 1 percent hydrocortisone, can reduce inflammation and reduce pain.

Secondly, educate yourself about ingredients that can make it worse for you. Cooling agents like camphor and menthol feel good upon contact, but they may not heal or improve lips. Exfoliating ingredients such as salicylic acid or physical granules in scrubs should not be used if your lips are chapped. These can make your lips feel raw. Additionally, plumping ingredients like capsaicin aren’t a great idea as they will cause swelling.

Be careful with home remedies or natural products that your body may react to adversely. Even some traditionally helpful ingredients, like beeswax, can cause allergic reactions in people, says Dr. Feely. Lanolin, peppermint and coconut oils, propylene glycol, fragrances, dyes, and more can also stir irritation, so if you feel that your lip balm is making things worse, it might be time to see your dermatologist.

  10. Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip Balm Mini, Creme Brule. I love this lip balm, It is nothing short of a “godsend,” “MAGIC,” and “by far the best lip balm I’ve ever used.” It not only soothes but heals even the driest lips. “For two weeks, I was in agony just trying to eat or speak. My lips had practically seized up solid (from the fall/winter weather),” he writes. “Blistex made it way worse. Finally, I got this stuff. I had it on for ONE NIGHT and all of it cleared up completely.” And if the idea of a creme brûlée–scented lip product gives you pause, many reviewers mention that the scent isn’t too strong. “I thought the creme brûlée would be overwhelming, but it’s very subtle,” says one. Another writes, “The creme brûlée flavor smells amazing, but is faint enough that you’re not tempted to lick it off and it doesn’t have a flavor, so it’s perfect!”
Locks in moisture for beautiful, healthy looking lips
With a decendent vanilla scent Creme Brulee
Will leave you with deliciously, kissable lips

  11. my favorite lip balm is the Burt’s Bees says:

My choice lip balm is the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm (in Red Dahlia). I can’t stand the Burt’s Bees plain beeswax balm—too waxy, too sticky—but the tinted one has just the right texture so it glides on smoothly and feels light on your lips. It appears to have all-natural ingredients and a just a hint of scent, and the tint is just enough to look polished but not so much that you have to use a mirror to put it on. I keep one with me so I always have it handy.cheers
